What is the average salary of an NFL referee?

I am having a debate with my SO about how much NFL ref's make? If you know the breakdown of the salary of ref's vs. umpires, etc. that would be great also. Also, do you know if they are part of a union?

All educated answers are appreciated!

The NFL official鈥檚 average annual income of USD 27, 000 is lowest when compared to the NBA officials earn about USD 128,000 per annum, the NHL officials earn USD139, 000 per annum and the major-league baseball officials earn about USD 141, 000 per annum.
